Watermelon Festival

The 2025 Watermelon Festival in Parabita was held on August 5th and 6th, in the heart of the town, in the area around the Basilica of Santa Maria della Coltura. For two evenings, the stalls offered fresh watermelon slices, granitas, sorbets, and sweets made from the fruit that symbolizes the summer, along with typical Salento culinary products.

The festival, with free admission, featured live music with Salento pizzica bands and folk music, dance performances, and popular art, attracting families, young people, and visitors vacationing in lower Salento. An authentic event that confirmed Parabita's bond with its gastronomic and folkloric traditions.
