Edition 2025 — Watermelon Festival

The 2025 edition of the Watermelon Festival took place on July 26th in Giuggianello, concluding the three days of celebrations in honor of Saint Christopher (July 24-25-26). The "festa te li miluni" filled the village square with the free distribution of fresh, juicy watermelon slices, accompanied by food stalls and Salento folk music, including pizzica and traditional dances, for a simple and convivial evening highly appreciated by residents and tourists.

On July 26, 2025, Giuggianello renewed its sweetest tradition with the Watermelon Festival, the "festa te li miluni", concluding the patronal celebrations of Saint Christopher that began on July 24th. In the historic center square, slices of fresh watermelon were distributed for free to residents and visitors in a popular festive atmosphere.

The evening was enlivened by food stalls featuring typical Salento products and Salento folk music, with songs, dances, and pizzica. The festival confirmed its role as a key identity event for the small community in the Lecce hinterland, capable of uniting the religious dimension of the patronal feast with the convivial and farming spirit linked to the fruits of summer.
