2025 Walk Among the Olive Trees in Fossacesia
The 9th edition of the Walk Among the Olive Trees took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, with the national theme 'Let's Cultivate Peace', a symbolic gesture connecting Italy to Hiroshima on the anniversary of the atomic event. In Fossacesia, in the province of Chieti, the walk wound through the olive groves surrounding the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, with stops dedicated to tasting new oil and discovering Frentano olive growing. The Abruzzese municipality joined the initiative alongside Casoli, Città Sant'Angelo, Colonnella, Controguerra, Moscufo, Pianella, and Sant'Omero, sharing a message of peace and protection for the olive landscape.
The day combined trekking, visits to oil mills, tastings of extra virgin olive oil and local products, with the symbolic planting of olive trees as a sign of dialogue and unity.
