2025 Edition — The 800th Anniversary of the Canticle of the Creatures

From September 25 to 28, 2025, the historic center of Gangi (PA) hosted the 13th edition of "Vivere in Assisi," with a large turnout: over 7,000 attendees in four days. The edition, dedicated to the 800 years of the "Canticle of the Creatures," featured the play "Of Flesh and Light – Francis, a creature among creatures," under the artistic direction of Santi Cicardo.

Blending theater, dance, song, poetry, and monologues, the village alleys were transformed into narrative spaces that wove together episodes from the life of Francis and the verses of the Canticle. Mayor Giuseppe Ferrarello defined the event as "one of the most evocative Franciscan and medieval events in all of Sicily," celebrating its originality and evocative power.

The re-enactment was spread over four evenings (Thursday, September 25 – Sunday, September 28, 2025) along a narrative path in the historic center of Gangi, with staged areas dedicated to episodes from the life of Francis of Assisi and the verses of the "Canticle of the Creatures."
