Viteculture Park Festival - Roma s'Impegna (with EMERGENCY)

A neighborhood festival with a wider vision

Roma s'Impegna is the grand finale of the Viteculture Park Festival, the summer series that brings the Rino Gaetano Arena in Parco delle Valli to life in the northern quadrant of Rome (Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio). Born from a collaboration between the cultural association Medart, the Viteculture Park team, and the Arci Roma incontra il mondo festival, the event combines Roman folk music, the city's new generation of artists, and reflection on human rights into a single evening.

The venue: The Arena dedicated to Rino Gaetano

The stage is set in a public park just steps away from the house where Rino Gaetano once lived. Today, it is a green space returned to the neighborhood, having become one of the most vibrant cultural hubs in the 3rd Municipality. Every summer, the Viteculture program brings free concerts, DJ sets, and initiatives here—a deliberate choice that links culture to the recovery of urban spaces rather than large commercial circuits.

Music and civic engagement combined

The evening alternates between musical sets and spoken-word moments. The stage has hosted L'Orchestraccia, a benchmark of Roman folk-rock, the rapper Kento accompanied by Dj Fuzzten, as well as Marta La Noce, Cecilia Lavatore, 1989, the JenaClub collective, Pilar Brunengo, Zanzu, and other artists from the capital's scene. Between concerts, there is space for testimonies from EMERGENCY volunteers and staff, a talk with those who worked aboard the Life Support rescue ship, and screenings dedicated to the R1PUD1A campaign, which recalls Article 11 of the Italian Constitution.

Why we raise funds

• All proceeds from the evening and the digital fundraiser support EMERGENCY's medical activities in the Gaza Strip.
• An information stand for the Rome North EMERGENCY volunteer group is set up in the arena.
• The initiative explicitly draws on the teachings of Gino Strada and the belief that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

A different kind of Roman summer

Viteculture Park is part of the Estate Romana (Roman Summer) calendar promoted by Rome Capital and is among the projects selected by the Roma Creativa 365 public notice. The spirit of the festival is clear: environmental sustainability, social innovation, and the reuse of unused spaces, with programming designed to be accessible to everyone. On the same weekend, the arena also hosts the Gusto in Musica gastronomic event, featuring Italian and international street food, DJ sets, and dance evenings, allowing the public to go from an aperitif to a concert without moving.

The audience and the atmosphere

The atmosphere is that of a Roman neighborhood party: families, young people, and groups of friends sitting on the grass, association stalls, beer, and sandwiches managed by volunteers. The voluntary donation formula lowers every barrier to entry and turns participation into a small, concrete gesture. It is a model that is growing in Rome: popular, free, self-produced events where music remains the protagonist but is never an end in itself.

The first edition of Roma s'Impegna, which took place on July 5, 2026, was born as the festival's closing event: the public's response and the supportive nature of the project suggest a possible continuity in the coming years.
