Parade floats, music, and choreography through the village streets
The Carnival of Vinchiaturo is a young but already very popular event in the town's calendar, in the province of Campobasso. The festival transforms the center of the Molise village into a large colorful procession, with parade floats, music, and choreography involving families, young people, and local associations.
The gathering of floats and participants takes place at Largo San Martino, from where the parade begins, crossing the streets of the center. Along the route, there's a mix of music, dancing, and masks, in a festive atmosphere open to all ages. The day concludes with a final show that, in the most recent edition, featured a fire-eater.
Among the most anticipated elements is the competition for the most beautiful float, voted by the public through social media channels. It's a way to reward the effort of the groups who work for weeks on building the floats, renewing a tradition that in Vinchiaturo combines creativity, fun, and a sense of community.
The 2nd edition of the Vinchiaturo Carnival took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The Molise village came alive with a parade of floats, music, and choreography, in a day of celebration open to all ages.
As tradition dictates, the public could vote for the most beautiful float on social media, rewarding the efforts of the groups who worked on their creation. In the preceding days, on Saturday, January 31, the municipal library hosted animated readings for children aged 0 to 6.
