The roots of VinArt Est in Pigneto

The VinArt Est festival was born from the experience of SO2 Distribuzione ed Enoteca, a business in the Pigneto district of Rome that has long intertwined the culture of natural wine with that of author comics and self-publishing. Already during 2025, the spaces and initiatives linked to SO2, together with the Quartiere Vino Pigneto circuit, had made the neighborhood one of the reference points for small publishing and independent illustration in the capital.

In this fertile ground, among stalls of zines, prints, and self-published albums, meetings with authors, and tastings, the format that would take the name VinArt Est in 2026 matured, bringing the Roman underground scene to Piazza Nuccitelli. Pigneto, a historic working-class district of Lazio made famous by Pasolini's cinema, thus confirms its vocation as a grassroots cultural laboratory.
