Muggiò's heritage opens to the public

Every year, the Province of Monza and Brianza promotes Ville Aperte in Brianza, a major exhibition that opens villas, palaces, and historic sites in the area to the public. Muggiò participates with guided tours of its two gems: Villa Casati Stampa di Soncino and the Mausoleum of the Counts Casati, curated by the Pro Loco of Muggiò.

Villa Casati and the Mausoleum

Villa Casati Stampa di Soncino, attributed to architect Leopoldo Pollack and now the seat of the Municipality, is the city's most representative monument. With its park and rooms, it tells the story of the noble families who shaped the Brianza region. A short walk away, in the local cemetery, stands the Mausoleum of the Counts Casati, a refined example of 19th-century funerary architecture. The guided tours allow access to normally restricted areas and reveal their history.

Dramatized tours and workshops

The experience is enhanced by original offerings: dramatized tours with period dance and music designed for adults, and sensory workshops — such as the olfactory trail for children aged 6 to 10 — that engage younger visitors with the heritage in a captivating way. Typically held between spring and autumn, Ville Aperte is the ideal occasion for Muggiò, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, to rediscover the city's historical and cultural roots through its most precious sites.
