Villa Basilica Soapbox Derby

The 2025 edition of the Soapbox Derby was held on September 6 and 7, 2025 on the Pizzorne Plateau, in Villa Basilica (Lucca). Saturday was dedicated to driver registration, practice, and the first two timed heats; Sunday featured practice, the first heat, and in the afternoon, the second and third decisive heats. The race, valid for the national speed down championship, was run on the 1.8 km track with speeds up to 80 km/h. Admission was free for the public, with alternative traffic routes set up from Matraia and Pariana and the customary Saturday evening convivial dinner.
