The natural wine festival among the ancient olive trees of Masseria Spina in Monopoli
Vignaioli in Masseria is one of the most anticipated events for natural wine enthusiasts in Southern Italy. The event takes place in the Masseria Spina Rural Park, an authentic example of Apulian rural architecture nestled in the plain of ancient olive trees, just outside the town of Monopoli, in the Province of Bari (Puglia). For two evenings, the masseria becomes a meeting point for independent winemakers, enthusiasts, and the curious, in an intimate and convivial atmosphere far from large commercial trade fairs.
The heart of the festival is the tasting area, where you can engage directly with producers and enjoy unlimited tastings of hundreds of labels. Each year, over thirty artisan winemakers participate, hailing from Puglia and numerous Italian regions—Calabria, Campania, Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia—as well as wineries from France, Slovenia, and Germany. The common thread is a commitment to authentic production methods, respecting both the land and the grapes, without cellar intervention.
Vignaioli in Masseria is about more than just tasting. The park hosts art installations, exhibitions, and experiential paths that interact with the monumental olive grove landscape. The evenings are accompanied by live performances and DJ sets that continue late into the night, creating a fusion of wine culture, contemporary art, and music.
The event was born from a desire to promote small producers and Apulian rural culture, highlighting Masseria Spina and its heritage of ancient olive trees and historic oil mills. Strolling through the rows of trees and the stone structures of the masseria, glass in hand, offers an immersive experience that blends flavors, stories, and landscapes.
The 6th edition of Vignaioli in Masseria was held on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, 2026, in the Masseria Spina Rural Park in Monopoli, preceded on June 27 by a welcome party reserved for winemakers. The two evenings open to the public took place from 8:00 PM to midnight, with DJ sets continuing until late at night.
Over thirty artisan winemakers, with hundreds of labels available for tasting, represented numerous Italian regions and several European countries—France, Slovenia, and Germany. The public was able to engage directly with the producers at the tasting stations.
The park hosted installations and exhibitions, including works by Monopoli-based illustrator Pierfederica Verdegiglio and artist Edoardo De Liso, with live performances and visual paths integrated into the experience. The evenings were accompanied by DJ sets and musical performances.
Masseria Spina is located at Viale Aldo Moro 27, in the countryside of Monopoli (BA). By car, it can be reached via the SS16 Adriatica, taking the Monopoli exit. By train, Monopoli station is served by Ferrovie del Sud Est and Trenitalia on the Bari-Lecce line; from the station, you can continue by car or taxi to the masseria.
Admission is ticketed: the ticket includes access to the tasting stations, unlimited tastings, a wine glass with a lanyard, and access to exhibitions and performances. Advance purchase is recommended.
This is an outdoor evening event: comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking among olive trees are recommended. Local gastronomic options will be available for dining.
