Vespri a Vereto

In the municipality of Patù, at the southern end of Salento (Province of Lecce), Vespri a Vereto represents a new way of experiencing the heritage of the Capo di Leuca. The format combines traditional music with archaeological sites: the musical itineraries at sunset are held on the hill of Vereto, site of the ancient Messapian city, and in Piazza Indipendenza.

The festival is part of the "Storie Meridiane" project, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and the Ministry of Culture through the PNRR, and curated by Archeorete del Mediterraneo APS. Alongside the folk and Mediterranean music concerts, there are guided tours, excursions, and immersive theatrical experiences to rediscover the memory of the saints and the cultural depth of the most authentic Salento.
