The Verguenza Festival

Verguenza Days are much more than just a beer festival: they are the birthday of an iconic beer. Verguenza is the famous Double IPA from Birrificio Menaresta, founded in 2007 and considered one of the first craft breweries in Brianza. Every year, for three days, the Carate Brianza site in the province of Monza and Brianza becomes the beating heart of an event that centers on this highly hopped IPA.

Beer, Food, and Music in Piazza Risorgimento

Various versions of Verguenza on tap flow within the indoor and outdoor spaces of the brewery in Piazza Risorgimento, including new collaborations with other breweries, alongside a rotation of IPAs, sours, and other house specialties. On the gastronomic front, the street food offering features gourmet burgers and fried items, as well as artisanal baked goods from well-known names in the brewing scene. All accompanied by live music, DJ sets, and shows, with moments also dedicated to families.

An Event that Starts in Carate and Reaches All of Italy

The uniqueness of Verguenza Days lies in their collective dimension: on the same weekend, Verguenza is tapped in over a hundred venues in Italy (and beyond), all ideally connected to the Carate headquarters. Here, however, the most complete experience is lived, with masterclasses dedicated to IPAs and guided brewery tours with tasting, to discover up close how the beer that gives the festival its name is made.

Verguenza Days perfectly illustrate how Carate Brianza and the Monza Brianza area have become, over the years, a small hub for Italian craft beer. A self-deprecating festival from its very name – "the days of shame" – but serious in its product quality, with free admission and an atmosphere that blends enthusiasts, the curious, and families.
