The Valtellina Winter Events originate as an extraordinary program that Sondrio dedicates to the Milan Cortina 2026 Games: an unprecedented event linked to the 2026 Olympic edition, resulting from the approach to the Games experienced by Valtellina in 2025.

The Valtellina Winter Events represent the program that Sondrio is dedicating for the first time to the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, with the setup of Piazza Garibaldi as a widespread Olympic village. Throughout 2025, the province of Sondrio has undergone an intense journey towards the Games, enhancing the competition venues of Bormio and Livigno and preparing collateral initiatives in the capital. The event in February 2026 constitutes its culmination, designed to involve the entire Valtellina community in the grand Olympic event.
