The 242nd edition

In 2025, the Valle dello Jato Livestock Show celebrated its 242nd edition, from August 13 to 15. The inauguration was held on Wednesday, August 13, at 9:30 AM at the skating rink area, in the presence of the mayor and local authorities.

On Thursday, August 14, the show reached its peak: at 4:00 PM, the parade of Sicilian carts traveled through the town streets, followed in the evening by tastings of local products and a meat grill; at 9:30 PM, the high-school equestrian show with Asd Cavalli e Cultura took place.

On Friday, August 15, Ferragosto day, from 6:00 AM, veterinarians and breeders opened the exhibition of cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, and poultry, featuring native breeds such as Modicana, Cinisara, Girgentane goats, and Comisana and Noticiana sheep; at 12:00 PM, plaques were awarded to breeders, artisans, and producers. Among the specialties available for tasting were the raw-milk PDO cheeses: Pecorino, Piacentino, Vastedda del Belice, Ragusano, and Caciocavallo palermitano.
