Valle d'Itria Festival 2025
From July 18 to August 3, 2025, the 51st edition of the Valle d'Itria Festival took place, dedicated to the theme "War and Peace". The opera program, staged mainly in the courtyard of the Ducal Palace and the cloisters of Martina Franca, featured Gioachino Rossini's Tancredi (with both endings), the Italian premiere of Benjamin Britten's Owen Wingrave, and Maurice Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges.
Alongside the operas, the season offered symphonic concerts — including Shostakovich's Fourteenth Symphony conducted by Fabio Luisi — and over twenty events including meetings, dialogues, and concerts spread across the masserie and villages of the Valle d'Itria, confirming the Festival's vocation to bring great music beyond the borders of Martina Franca, towards the towns of the Province of Bari and Taranto.
