Urteddra Festival (Madonna della Grottella)

The 2025 Urteddra Festival was celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, in the Madonna della Grottella Park in Copertino (LE), organized by the municipal administration and the Pro Loco. The day combined the religious dimension, with masses at the sanctuary, and the popular spirit of the "second Easter Monday": outdoor lunches, picnic areas, and traditional sweets such as the palummeddra (Easter tarallo decorated with a hard-boiled egg) and marange. Among the most characteristic elements were the kites with the slogan "Cumete sul prato e nel cielo ti la Urteddra" (Kites on the grass and in the sky of the Urteddra), built by children in the municipal library's workshops. During the day, it was possible to visit the Josephine Documentation Center in the Bishop's Garden and a photographic exhibition on Saint Joseph of Copertino.
