Edition 2025 — Urbino Plays Jazz
The 10th edition of Urbino Plays Jazz was held from July 31 to August 3, 2025, in Piazza Rinascimento, Urbino, confirming the free admission formula. The festival opened with a preview on July 29 in Sant'Angelo in Vado with the show Il suono delle pagine, featuring actor Matthias Martelli and accordionist Simone Zanchini.
The lineup brought together numerous protagonists of Italian jazz, including saxophonist Gabriel Marciano with his debut album A Reason to Believe, trombonist Massimo Morganti with trumpeter Cosimo Boni in a modern quintet, pianist Dario Bassolino with the project Città Futura, pianist Guglielmo Santimone with his trio, and the Sam Paglia Trio, blending jazz-funk, soul, and Italian elegance. Completing the days were street music and jam sessions in the historic center of the ducal city.
