Edition 2025 — A Tuccata di Lupi

In 2025, Gratteri once again celebrated 'U Juovi di Mastri with 'A Tuccata di Lupi, on the Thursday marking the end of the Corpus Domini Octave. As per tradition, drummers traversed the streets of the Madonie village from dawn until evening, recreating the ancient rhythm linked to the legend of the wolves of the San Giorgio forest and keeping one of the most defining folk rituals of inland Sicily alive.

The 2025 edition of 'U Juovi di Mastri confirmed the vitality of a tradition that has been renewed in Gratteri every year since its revival in 1999. On the day that closes the Corpus Domini Octave, the Madonie village resonated with the rhythm of 'A Tuccata di Lupi.

The drummers crossed the streets and squares of the historic center from dawn until evening, accompanying the day with the rhythmic beat that recalls the ancient practice used by hunters to drive away wolves. The ritual, intertwined with devotion to Corpus Domini, brought the Gratteri community together around its own memory and identity.
