The 39th Turchetto Festival

In 2025, the Turchetto Festival in Belmonte in Sabina reached its thirty-ninth edition, confirming its status as one of the most cherished summer events in the Rieti Sabina region. The event was held on August 16 and 17, 2025, immediately after Ferragosto, with the theme "R-ESTATE in Belmonte - from square to small square".

The absolute star was the turchetto, the ancient diamond-shaped pastry prepared with wheat flour, fresh eggs, and toasted hazelnuts and baked, as tradition dictates, in the wood-fired oven set up in the square. Alongside the stalls of the traditional pastry, visitors were able to enjoy local products and freshly baked pizzas.

The two evenings were accompanied by live music and entertainment through the streets and small squares of the historic center, enlivened by the volunteers of the Pro Loco of Belmonte in Sabina. An opportunity to rediscover the authenticity of this village in Lazio, in the province of Rieti, and its deep-rooted gastronomic traditions.
