Floats, masks, and majorettes in the hamlet of Morrovalle
The Trodica Carnival is one of the most beloved traditions in the Morrovalle area, in the heart of the province of Macerata (Marche). It takes place in the hamlet of Trodica and is confirmed each year as the first major carnival event in the Macerata area, officially kicking off the masked festival season in the Marche hinterland.
The heart of the event is the grand parade that colors the streets of the hamlet and converges in Piazza Sandro Pertini. Five floats and six masked groups parade, the result of months of creative work by volunteers and local associations. Papier-mรขchรฉ, colors, music, and choreography transform Trodica into a small festive town, where adults and children are invited to participate with themed costumes, masks, and face paint.
Accompanying the parade are several entertainment segments:
The day concludes with the final awards for the floats and masked groups.
The Trodica Carnival is organized by the Pro Loco Trodica with the patronage of the Municipality of Morrovalle and the Marche Region. Although it is the 39th official edition, the event has over forty years of history behind it: the difference is due to the two editions skipped during the Covid emergency. Admission is free and the festival is designed to be enjoyed by everyone, especially families with children.
The 39th edition of the Trodica Carnival was held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, confirming the event as the first major carnival celebration in the Macerata area. The day, with free admission, transformed Trodica di Morrovalle into a path of colors and masks.
