Trappeto City Half Marathon

The first edition of the Trappeto City Half Marathon was held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with the start at 9:30 AM from Piazza Falcone Borsellino and check-in from 8:00 AM. The event, organized by A.S.D.IL. Universitas Palermo with the patronage of the Municipality of Trappeto, inaugurated the running event in the seaside village of the Gulf of Castellammare.

The course, a traffic-free urban circuit between the historic center and the seafront, consisted of four laps for the half marathon (21.097 km) and two laps for the 1st Trappeto City Trophy (10.549 km). 172 athletes participated, 144 men and 28 women, representing 42 clubs, with ages ranging from 21 to 79. The race was valid as a stage of the "Mare e Monti" regional circuit of the Grand Prix Sicilia, with timing provided by MySDAM Sicilia and rankings on ENDU.
