Edition 2025 — Capaci Cassata Festival
The origins of the Cassata Festival in Capaci
The Traditional Sicilian Cassata Festival of Capaci, in the province of Palermo, is a recently established event: the first documented edition dates back to June 2, 2026, as part of the Republic Day celebrations. There was no edition of the festival in 2025.
The initiative is part of the long Sicilian tradition of promoting the cassata, a dessert made with ricotta, sponge cake, almond paste, and candied fruit that has represented an icon of the island's confectionery identity for centuries. The Municipality of Capaci's decision to dedicate a festival to it confirms the deep bond between the Palermo territory and its artisanal pastry.
