Traditional Plate Throwing from the Belvedere

The 2025 edition of the Plate Throwing from the Belvedere took place as per tradition on August 15th, in the afternoon, from the Belvedere of Piazza Roma in Castelli, in the province of Teramo. The terracotta plate throwing competition involved adults and children in a distance challenge overlooking the Leomogna valley and the Gran Sasso.

The Ferragosto day was enlivened by the entire village festival: ceramic workshops open until evening, the Ceramic Craft Exhibition-Market of Castelli, art exhibitions, and tastings of typical Abruzzo tradition dishes. A Ferragosto that confirmed Castelli, one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in Italy', as one of the most lively destinations of the Teramo summer.
