Edition 2025 — San Nicandro Traditional Bonfires
In 2025, the Traditional Bonfires of San Nicandro Garganico took place according to the usual calendar, with fires lit on the evenings of January 17 (Saint Anthony Abbot), January 20 (Saint Sebastian), January 31 (Saint Cyrus), and February 3 (Saint Blaise). Neighborhood committees set up wood piles in the town's squares and open spaces, where the community gathered around the fire to roast meat and sausages, cook chickpeas, drink wine, and spend time together with singing and dancing. An event that, in the province of Foggia, remains one of the most authentic winter rituals of the Gargano and effectively opens the Carnival period.
