Tractor Drivers' Saturday

The 2025 edition of the Tractor Drivers' Saturday in Pietraperzia took place over the weekend of May 10-12, with Saturday being the main day. More than sixty tractors and hundreds of faithful on their trailers took part in the pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima della Cava, where Father Giovanni Bongiovanni, parish priest and rector of the sanctuary, celebrated Mass.

Compared to previous editions, the route was modified: the tractors were positioned on Viale Unità d'Italia (formerly Viale dei Pini), the starting point of the pilgrimage. On Saturday afternoon, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, a minute of silence was observed in memory of tractor driver Pino Scozzese, who passed away on May 7. On Sunday evening, after the procession with the Palio, a twenty-minute fireworks display at the old sports field on Viale Marconi closed the event. Security was guaranteed by the Carabinieri and Local Police, with the assistance of the Italian Red Cross.
