Edition 2025 — Emigrant Day

The 19th Tortoreto Emigrant Day took place on July 21, 2025, in the historic center. An edition rich in reflection, featuring a conference in the Town Hall that brought together journalists, researchers, and scholars of Abruzzo's emigration, followed by a communal lunch and an evening musical performance.

19th edition — July 21, 2025

The nineteenth Emigrant Day in Tortoreto was held on July 21, 2025, confirming the event as one of the key identity-building appointments of the Tortoreto summer. The heart of the day was the conference in the Town Hall, which offered numerous insights into the themes of emigration and integration.

Speakers included journalist and writer Dom Serafini, director of Video Age, MIT Boston researcher Gigliola Staffilani, historian and writer Tito Rubini, anthropologist Fabiana Vagnoni, and representatives of the ANFE (National Association of Emigrant Families). The day concluded with the traditional communal lunch and, in the evening at 9:00 PM, a performance by the folk group The Folk Band.

The event was organized by the Associazione Amici di Tortoreto, chaired by Franco Coccia, with the patronage of the municipal administration.
