Half a century of Tomato Festival
In Cappella di Scorzè, a hamlet of the municipality in the Miranese area, province of Venice, the Tomato Festival is a tradition that has lasted for over fifty years: born in 1972, it brings the community together every July around the fruit that symbolizes summer. The venue is Villa Toffolo, on Via Moglianese, which also houses the Pro Loco.
Stuffed and Gratinated Tomato
The signature dish of the festival is the stuffed and gratinated tomato, prepared according to a local recipe that the organizers have kept virtually unchanged for decades. The food stand is the beating heart of the event, alongside the fruit and vegetable exhibition of tomatoes, which showcases the different varieties grown in the area.

Tomato Festival — edition 2026
The 54th edition of the Tomato Festival is scheduled for Cappella di Scorzè in July 2026. Sources indicate the dates July 18-28, 2026, still marked as to be confirmed by the organizers. The event, organized by Pro Loco Scorzè at Villa Toffolo, confirms the stuffed and gratinated tomato as the signature dish, alongside a fruit and vegetable exhibition, a tractor parade, folklore, and shows. Free admission.
