Edition 2025 — Thunnus Fest
The first edition of Thunnus Fest (2025)
From May 30 to June 1, 2025, Porticello hosted the first edition of the Thunnus Fest – Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Festival at Piano Stenditore. The event, organized by the Municipality of Santa Flavia together with private partners and local associations, celebrated Mediterranean bluefin tuna with three days of taste, culture, and maritime tradition.
The heart of the event was the Thunnus Expo, featuring cooking shows and masterclasses led by numerous local chefs and restaurateurs, including experts in Bagheria and Palermo seafood cuisine. The Food Village, open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, offered street food and local seafood specialties. There were also talks and conferences on sustainable fishing and the history of the tonnare, exhibitions at the Museum of the Sea, and free guided tours of the Archaeological Park of Solunto. The first edition recorded over 20,000 attendees.
