The Poetics of Green

In the municipality of Cesano Maderno (Province of Monza and Brianza, Lombardy), Palazzo Arese Borromeo hosts the exhibition "The Poetics of Green. Woods and Parks of Brianza" by artist Luigi Christopher Veggetti Kanku. Twenty large-format works depict the Brianza landscape, with a particular focus on the Bosco delle Querce (Oak Woods) and the Parco delle Groane, two symbolic locations of the territory's natural rebirth.

The Acid Technique

Veggetti Kanku's work is distinguished by an original language: the artworks appear monochrome, animated by subtle chromatic variations in shades of ochre, sienna, and orange. The artist uses acid as an investigative tool to alter, consume, and reveal the layers of the surface. This approach prioritizes memory and material subtraction over direct documentation, restoring to painting the depth of time and nature.

Seveso50 and Regeneration

The exhibition is part of the broader Seveso50 project, promoted by the Lombardy Green Chemistry Association. On the fiftieth anniversary of the 1976 ICMESA disaster, it transforms environmental trauma into a path of conscious regeneration. As the artist stated, the goal is to "restore the beauty of what is close to us and what we often fail to see": an invitation to look with new eyes at the woods and parks of Brianza, symbols of a nature that is reborn.
