Passion of Christ 2025

The second edition of the Passion of Christ of Saponara was held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, starting at 9:00 PM. The living Stations of the Cross wound through the village streets, staging Judas' betrayal, the flagellation, the meeting with Mary, the crucifixion, and the resurrection.

The event, organized by the U Casteddu association with the patronage of the Municipality of Saponara, involved about one hundred performers in historical costumes. The direction was handled by Nino Gangemi, while Dario Alessi Sgró played the role of Jesus. The official presentation took place on April 5 in the municipal council chamber. The evening was a great success and deeply moving, confirming the growth of a performance born just a year earlier.
