The Night of the Brigands

2025 Edition — the female brigands

The 19th edition of The Night of the Brigands took place on the weekends of August 9-10 and 16-17, 2025, at Masseria Calmerio, near the Canale delle Pile in the Coreggia district of Alberobello. The theme of the year was dedicated to the role of women in the brigandage of the 19th-century South, focusing on the figure of Chellina and the stories of other often-forgotten female brigands, such as Maria Oliverio and Filomena Pennacchio.

The show, featuring over a hundred actors and extras, wound along a 1.2 km nature trail divided into nine scenes, amidst woodland paths and soft lighting. At the end, the public was able to participate in a tasting of typical local products. The event, organized by the Associazione Sylva Tour and Didactics with the patronage of the Municipality of Alberobello, confirmed itself as a major attraction for the Province of Bari and all of Puglia.
