The 18th Century Lives Again in the Euganean Spas
La Maschera alle Terme is the costume re-enactment that every spring brings Abano Terme, in the province of Padua, back to the elegant atmospheres of the 18th century. For a weekend, the Pedestrian Zone and the Urban Thermal Park are populated by over 200 participants in period costumes, including ladies, knights, and historical figures.
Dances, Lanterns, and Masks
The program alternates between 18th-century historical dances by the La Corte del Leon association, the evocative candlelit evening parade "Lanterne alle Terme" organized by the Compagnia degli Anelli, and the grand Mask Parade judged by a jury, with a final award ceremony.
An Event for the Territory
Promoted by the City of Abano Terme, the event involves re-enactment associations and costume groups from the area, offering residents and visitors a dive into the history and traditions of the spa town. Admission is free.

The 13th edition of La Maschera alle Terme takes place on May 9 and 10, 2026, in Abano Terme, with over 200 participants in 18th-century period costumes. The event involves the Pedestrian Zone, Via Jappelli, and the Thermal Forum in the Urban Thermal Park.
With historical dances, candlelit processions, and the grand Mask Parade, the event offers a weekend of re-enactment and spectacle in the heart of the spa town, with free admission. In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.

- 5:00 PM — 18th-century historical dances by the La Corte del Leon Association (Pedestrian Zone)
- 9:00 PM — "Lanterne alle Terme", a candlelit costume parade through the streets of the Pedestrian Zone by Compagnia degli Anelli
Sunday, May 10
- 10:00 AM — Mask Parade before the jury (Pedestrian Zone, starting from Via Jappelli)
- 3:30 PM — Parade and awards ceremony at the Thermal Forum (Urban Thermal Park)

How to get there
