The Living Mysteries of Cavola

The 2025 edition of the Living Mysteries of Cavola took place on the evening of August 5th, 2025, confirming the annual event linked to the feast of the Madonna della Neve in the Municipality of Toano (RE). As tradition dictates, the procession departed from the Sanctuary with the image of the Madonna, accompanied by the faithful with torches, stopping along the way before the living tableaux that suddenly lit up at the sides of the path.

The participants, young people from the valley, brought to life a series of biblical episodes from the Old and New Testaments, alternating static scenes and spoken parts, accompanied by local devotional songs. The evening attracted visitors from the municipalities of the Reggio Emilia Apennines, confirming the strong bond of the Cavola community with this representation of deep cultural and religious identity.
