Edition 2025 — The Campanaccio

In 2025, Il Campanaccio of San Mauro Forte once again animated the Matera village in mid-January, featuring the rite of the cowbells in honor of Saint Anthony Abbot, parades through the historic center, and the usual program of music, exhibitions, and gastronomy that draws visitors from all over Basilicata.

The 2025 edition confirmed the formula that combines the ancestral rite of cowbells with contemporary cultural offerings. Teams of bell-ringers roamed the streets of San Mauro Forte for days, with the culmination around the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot on January 17th. Alongside the parades, the village hosted food and wine stands, exhibitions, and evening concerts, reaffirming the strong identity value of the event for the San Mauro community.
