The Befana Descends into the Square

In the 2025 edition, Guardiagrele celebrated the Epiphany with the now-unmissable descent of the Befana from the cathedral bell tower of Santa Maria Maggiore. Accompanied by the Chieti Fire Brigade, the old lady descended from the top of the bell tower, giving both young and old a magical and evocative moment. Once she reached the square, she distributed over twenty kilos of candy to the many children who had gathered with their families, in a festive atmosphere that perfectly closed the Christmas holidays in the village in the province of Chieti.
