Edition 2025 — The Awakening of the Bear

In 2025, Castell'Azzara once again celebrated The Awakening of the Bear, the traditional spring festival of the Amiata village. The event offered two days dedicated to nature and local traditions, with guided tours of natural and mining sites, shows, live music, and food stalls in the historic center.

The 2025 edition of the Awakening of the Bear confirmed the formula loved by the public: two days dedicated to the Mount Amiata territory, with walks, guided tours of the Sassocolato Cave and the Cornacchino Mine, theatrical performances, live music, and children's entertainment. In the evening, food stalls on Via Alighieri offered traditional Amiata dishes in a festive atmosphere that involved the entire community of Castell'Azzara, the "Bears" of the Maremma.
