Ideas worth spreading, from the Academic Theatre of Castelfranco Veneto
TEDxCastelfrancoVeneto is an independently organized event under a TED license, which has enlivened the cultural scene of Castelfranco Veneto, in the province of Treviso, since 2016. Behind the event is TEDxCastelfrancoVeneto APS, an association of over forty young volunteers who have organized more than twenty events.
The main event takes place at the Academic Theatre, a historic 18th-century theatre in the walled city. Speakers from diverse backgrounds—science, business, art, society, gastronomy, technology—take turns on stage, sharing ideas, experiences, and visions in the spirit of TED's "ideas worth spreading".
Each edition is built around a guiding theme that shapes the talks and related content. The format is not limited to stage presentations: it includes networking opportunities, a dedicated exhibition, and a curated experience for the audience, from the gift bag to the coffee break and the concluding aperitif.
Over the years, TEDxCastelfrancoVeneto has become a reference point for those seeking stimulating content and cross-disciplinary inspiration, consolidating a loyal and growing community in the Treviso and Veneto region.
The 2026 edition of TEDxCastelfrancoVeneto, the tenth, is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Academic Theatre of Castelfranco Veneto. The chosen theme is "Once Upon a Time": not the beginning of a fairy tale, but the rewriting of a story and an invitation to overturn its narrative, to break a pattern, and to question what has been inherited.
Speakers from diverse backgrounds will take turns on stage. Among the announced names are Laura Nacci, a linguistic communicator and gender equality lecturer leading training at SheTech, and Lorenzo Barbasetti di Prun, a chef and researcher active in the Venetian Lagoon and the Dolomites, founder of prometheus_ open food lab. As a corollary to the event, a commemorative exhibition for the tenth anniversary of TEDx will be held in the city from May 2nd to 24th.
The complete list of speakers and detailed timings will be updated on the official website.
The Academic Theatre is located at Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 4, in the historic center of Castelfranco Veneto. It can be reached by train (Venice–Trento and Padua–Bassano lines) and by car via the SR53.
Tickets are available exclusively online via Eventbrite. Each ticket includes a seat, a gift bag, a coffee break, and the concluding aperitif.
