Edition 2025 — Tavuliata di San Giuseppe

On March 19, 2025, the 190th edition of the Tavuliata di San Giuseppe was celebrated in Malfa, on the island of Salina. As per tradition, the day featured mass, the procession of the Holy Family accompanied by local musicians, and the large banquet set up in the square, with dishes prepared by local families and shared among residents and visitors.

The 190th edition of the Tavuliata di San Giuseppe took place in Malfa (Salina island, Aeolian Islands) on March 19, 2025, confirming a devotional tradition unbroken since 1835.

The day followed the usual ritual: mass in the church of the Immaculate Conception, the procession of the Holy Family — with participants portraying Saint Joseph, the Madonna, and the Baby Jesus — accompanied by the music of guitar, accordion, and mandolin, and finally the large banquet in the square of the church of San Lorenzo. On the tables, the traditional «quadare» of pasta and chickpeas with wild fennel, grilled fish, local wine, and typical sweets, prepared by volunteers and offered free of charge to the entire community and the numerous visitors who arrived from the other islands and from Sicily.
