Edition 2025 — Stefanese Carnival

In 2025, the Stefanese Carnival once again brought color and joy to the streets of Santo Stefano di Camastra, confirming its status as one of the most beloved carnivals in the Nebrodi. Masquerade groups, music, and entertainment accompanied the festivities in the historic center of the City of Ceramics, leading up to the traditional 'Dead Carnival' Parade on Shrove Tuesday, an unmissable ritual that marks the end of the festival every year.

The 2025 edition of the Stefanese Carnival renewed a deeply felt tradition for the community in Santo Stefano di Camastra, within the Nebrodi Park territory in the province of Messina. The Carnival evenings brought Piazza Matrice and the streets of the historic center to life with confetti, colorful costumes, music, and masquerade groups.

As every year, the most anticipated moment was the 'Dead Carnival' Parade on Shrove Tuesday, the playful procession with weeping merry widows, nuns, cardinals, and folk masks that marks the conclusion of the festivities, preserving an identity-defining custom of the Stefanese community.
