SS. Crocifisso di Padre Pirrelli Festival

In 2025, the SS. Crocifisso di Padre Pirrelli Festival was celebrated on May 27th, the fourth Sunday after Easter, in San Cataldo (Caltanissetta).

The day opened in the morning with the wheat collection, accompanied by the brass band, and the offertory procession of women and children who brought finely decorated votive breads, flowers, and wheat stalks as gifts. In the afternoon, after the Eucharistic celebration, the papier-mâché statue was carried in procession on the Baroque float through the streets of the historic center, among the faithful and in the sign of a tradition that has lasted since 1851.
