The great fair-market that announces spring in the Balcony of the Marches
The Spring Fair is one of the most cherished events in the calendar of Cingoli, in the province of Macerata, in the heart of the Marches. Situated at over 600 meters above sea level, the village is known as the Balcony of the Marches for the panorama that stretches from the hills to the Adriatic Sea: a setting that, on the first warm Sundays of the year, serves as the backdrop for a great day of fair and popular celebration.
For one day, the center of Cingoli transforms into a large open-air market. The exhibitors, about 150, occupy the streets and squares according to a now-established distribution: agricultural producers are located along Viale della Carità, the area dedicated to vehicles develops along Viali Valentini, while artisans, hobbyists, and retailers of all kinds animate the streets of the historic center. The result is a long and varied walk, where you move from stalls of local products to those of crafts, objects, and small curiosities.
The fair is also the ideal pretext to visit one of the most beautiful villages in the region, awarded as Borgo dei Borghi 2026. Between one stall and another, you can easily reach the scenic Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the medieval alleys, and the famous panoramic viewpoints. The Spring Fair remains a free and open event for everyone, designed for families, the curious, and market enthusiasts, and organized by the Municipality of Cingoli through its Commerce, SUAP, and Tourism Office.
The 2026 Spring Fair in Cingoli was held on Sunday, May 17th, confirming the traditional event that opens the beautiful season in the Balcony of the Marches.
The setup followed the usual distribution: agricultural producers along Viale della Carità, vehicle area on Viali Valentini, and artisans, hobbyists, and various vendors in the streets of the historic center, for a total of about 150 exhibitors. The Municipality of Cingoli had published the public notice for participation, with the deadline for applications extended to April 11, 2026 (Municipal Council Resolution no. 50 of April 2, 2026).
