Spampanati Festival

In 2025, the Spampanati Festival took place on Sunday, April 20, for Easter. The day began at 7:30 AM with Holy Mass at the Church of the Mercede, followed by the triumphant exit of the statues of the Risen Christ and the Madonna della Mercede.

The procession departed from Via Tommaso Cannizzaro, continuing along Via Centonze, Via Nino Bixio, Via Ghibellina, Via Santa Cecilia, Via Cesare Battisti, Via I Settembre, and Piazza Duomo, where at 10:30 AM the meeting between Mary and her Risen Son was renewed. During the parade, musical performances were provided by the Giuseppe Verdi band of Bordonaro, conducted by Maestro Alberto Famà. The organization was handled, as per tradition, by the Confraternita Maria Santissima della Mercede of Messina.
