Music, art, and deep listening within the walls of Castelfranco Veneto Castle
Sottosopra Festival is one of the most original cultural offerings of the summer in Castelfranco Veneto, in the province of Treviso. Founded in 2017 by a group of local young people, it takes its name from the idea of conveying "a different point of view on normality: turning it upside down and looking at it with new eyes".
The event takes place in the Southwest Gardens of the Castle, the green space adjacent to the medieval walls that enclose the historic center. For a few days, the setting transforms into a widespread stage made of concerts, DJ sets, artistic performances, workshops, and moments of collective participation.
The programming ranges from electronic music to piano solo, from "deep listening" to performances by Italian and international artists, intertwining different languages. Alongside the evening program, the festival offers daytime activities, workshops, and social events that involve the audience directly.
More than just a music festival, Sottosopra is a participatory cultural project that has become rooted in the city's fabric, supported by a network of local volunteers and partners. Over the years, it has become a reference point for the independent music scene in the Veneto region.
Sottosopra Festival 2026 (SSF26) confirms its summer appointment in the Southwest Gardens of the Castle in Castelfranco Veneto, maintaining the formula that blends live music, deep listening, international DJ sets, workshops, and participatory activities.
The organizing association has launched the new official website dedicated to the 2026 edition: the lineup will be revealed gradually in the weeks leading up to the event. As per tradition, the days alternate evening concerts and daytime activities in the gardens at the foot of the city walls.
The detailed program and lineup for the 2026 edition (SSF26) will be announced progressively on the festival's official channels.
The usual structure includes several evenings of live music and DJ sets in the Southwest Gardens of the Castle, alongside workshops, performances, and moments of deep listening, with evening hours extending until midnight.
Castelfranco Veneto is reachable by train (Venice–Trento and Padua–Bassano lines) and by car via the SR53. The Southwest Gardens of the Castle are located in the historic center, a short walk from the station.
Admission is ticketed with tickets for individual evenings and passes for the entire festival, available online. Check prices and availability on the official channels.
The festival is held at the end of July / beginning of August in the Castle Gardens.
