Edition 2025 — Soppressata Festival

In 2025, Monacilioni also celebrated the Soppressata Festival in May, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Benedicta Martyr. Food stalls, tastings of Molise soppressata and local cheeses, a procession, and folk evenings enlivened the village, confirming an event that has been held uninterruptedly since 1977.

The 2025 edition of the Soppressata Festival renewed in Monacilioni the ancient link between the feast of Saint Benedicta Martyr and the celebration of the village's signature cured meat. The community participated in the procession of votive images and the festive evenings, while the stalls offered handmade soppressata from local producers and regional sheep and goat cheeses, in an atmosphere of devotion and conviviality.

Programme

The 2025 edition followed the traditional pattern linked to the feast of Saint Benedicta (third Sunday of May): opening of stalls in the late afternoon, procession, folk groups, and lottery drawing. Detailed schedules are not documented online.
