Solemnity of the Madonna delle Grazie

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Solemnity of the Madonna delle Grazie was celebrated on Sunday, August 3 in Acquaviva Platani, in the province of Caltanissetta, as the central moment of the Acquaviva Summer. On the evening of the festival, at 9:00 PM, a projection of Acquaviva photographs from the 1950s to today by Pino Solazzo was held in the square, followed at 10:30 PM by a live concert by the band Two for two in Piazza Plado Mosca.

The festival was part of the traditional Notte Bianca: on August 2, the village squares hosted a dance evening with Fonzie in Piazza Municipio (9:00 PM), a concert by Simone Medea & Band (11:00 PM), followed by music from DJs Vincenzo La Palerma and Omega with vocalist Stefano Cairone in Piazza Plado Mosca. As per tradition, the solemnity featured the procession of the Madonna and Child statue from the countryside church, accompanied by a brass band and fireworks.

The religious festival day included the Eucharistic celebration and the evening procession of the Madonna and Child statue along the Vie dei Santi, with a brass band and fireworks upon return to the church.
