Solemnity of the Holy Face

The 2025 celebrations of the Solemnity of the Holy Face enlivened Manoppello from July 27th to August 6th, following the traditional path of preparation: novena from July 27th, triduum from August 2nd to 4th, and the consecration of children on August 2nd. The day of the Transfiguration, August 6th, reached its peak with the 11:00 AM solemn mass, presided over by Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Apostolic Nuncio to Papua New Guinea. During the service, a twinning agreement was signed between the Basilica of the Holy Face and the mother church of Chiusa Sclafani (Palermo province) in the presence of a Sicilian delegation. In the evening, following the 7:00 PM mass presided over by Provincial Minister Father Simone Calvarese, the traditional procession of the Holy Face took place from the basilica to Fonte Leone and back.

• 11:00 AM — Basilica of the Holy Face: Solemn mass presided over by Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Apostolic Nuncio to Papua New Guinea, with the signing of the twinning agreement with the mother church of Chiusa Sclafani (PA)
• 7:00 PM — Mass presided over by Provincial Minister Father Simone Calvarese
• Following — Procession of the Holy Face from the basilica to Fonte Leone and back
