The 16th Snail Festival (2025)

From August 1st to 7th, 2025, Bellante Paese hosted the sixteenth edition of the Snail Festival in Piazza Mazzini, organized by the Pro Loco Bellante. Every evening from 7:00 PM, the stalls offered the snail menu: tagliatelle with snail sauce, stewed snails, fried snails, fritters and fried calzones with snails, and escargot, along with pennette alla bellantese, arrosticini, sandwiches, fried cheese, fried snacks, wine, and beer.

Beyond the food, the 2025 edition featured a busy calendar of cultural meetings, including a conference on burnout in the healthcare sector, a discussion on the sustainability of snails, the presentation of the book Il Nutrimento dei Contadini (The Nourishment of Peasants), and a workshop on limiting beliefs. A children's workshop was also active every evening, confirming the family-friendly nature of the festival in the Municipality of Bellante, Abruzzo.
