The 2025 Snail Festival
On August 10, 2025, Piazza Umberto I in Castrocielo hosted the Snail Festival, organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with local producers. From 8:00 PM, the stalls offered traditional Ciociarian specialties — snails in sauce, pasta with snails, and bruschetta with snails — during an evening enlivened by live music.
The first "Snail on the Run"
The same day saw the first edition of the "Snail on the Run – Run in Castrocielo" race, managed by the Polisportiva Ciociara Antonio Fava. The competitive race, 10.2 km long over two 5.1 km laps with three water stations along the route, started at 6:30 PM from Via San Rocco, preceded by a mini-sprint for children and teenagers. Prizes were awarded to the top three overall finishers and natural products for category winners.
