Sikelia Cultural Festival

The second edition of the Sikelia Cultural Festival was held from August 2nd to 5th, 2025, at Villa Patti in Caltagirone, organized into four thematic days.

• Saturday, August 2nd – Literature and publishing: poetry readings, reflections on eco-literary writing, a tribute to Giacomo Leopardi with Antonio Moresco in conversation with Franco D'Intino, followed by concerts and DJ sets.
• Sunday, August 3rd – Art: street artists Gabel and Rabit created the work "Tracce di terra" live, alongside round tables, spoken word performances, and concerts.
• Monday, August 4th – Science: a round table on UNESCO heritage with Paolo Patanè and Fabio Granata, a talk on artificial intelligence, and a podcast with Dr. Pietro Bartolo.
• Tuesday, August 5th – Current affairs: presentations of anti-mafia literature, a masterclass, and live concerts to conclude the festival.

The event, with free admission, confirmed the festival's international vocation thanks to the patronage of CUNY, the University of Catania, and the UNESCO Network of the Val di Noto.

Saturday, August 2nd — Literature and publishing

• Poetry reading and reflections on eco-literary writing with Irene Chias and Marco Navarra
• "Love Letter to Giacomo Leopardi": Antonio Moresco in conversation with Franco D'Intino
• In the evening: concerts by Gioia Lucia and NIMA, followed by a DJ set

Sunday, August 3rd — Art

• From 6:00 PM — "Tracce di terra": work created live by street artists Gabel and Rabit
• Round table on cultural resilience and theater
• 9:00 PM — talk by Giuseppina Norcia; spoken word performance
• Concert by Alessio Bondi and DJ set

Monday, August 4th — Science

• 6:00 PM — round table "UNESCO Heritage" with Paolo Patanè and Fabio Granata
• 7:00 PM — "Young intelligences: challenges and developments in artificial intelligence" with Daniela Giordano and Simone Palazzo
• Podcast with Dr. Pietro Bartolo; screening of the film "La Chimera"

Tuesday, August 5th — Current affairs

• Presentations of anti-mafia literature
• Masterclass on tyranny with Antonio Losito
• Live concerts with Avarello, Chrisalide, and Belfiore to close the festival
