Edition 2025 — Marsala Marathon

The first edition of the Sigel Marsala Marathon took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, recording a record-breaking debut: 846 athletes at the finish line (191 in the marathon and 655 in the half marathon), coming from all over Italy and fourteen countries. The race, organized by Polisportiva Marsala Doc, wound along the coast overlooking the Stagnone lagoon and served as the Regional Club Championship for the 42.195 km distance.

The 2025 debut

The first edition of the Sigel Marsala Marathon took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with a record-breaking debut: 846 athletes at the finish line, including 191 in the marathon and 655 in the half marathon, representing Italy and fourteen different countries.

The men's marathon was won by Kenyan athlete Serem Benjamin Kiprop in 2h23'56", ahead of his compatriot Limo Johnson Kiprop; the first Italian was Antonio Adamo (2h46'00"). Among the women, Simona Pipitone (Marathon Athletic Avola) triumphed in 3h21'15", followed by Simona Sorvillo and Eleonora Suizzo. The scenic route along the seafront, overlooking the Stagnone Reserve, confirmed Marsala as one of the most evocative destinations for Sicilian running.
